According to what type ATV you own and which Gorilla kit you purchase, you can raise an ATV up to ten inches. This provides additional clearance both from ground to chassis and from tire to fender. Because raising the ATV causes a higher center of gravity, the Gorilla Suspension kit also widens suspension so stability is not compromised. Axles included in the suspension kit are developed to provide, in general, twice the durability of stock axles. This durability is necessary for the inevitable increased load of powerful engines and huge tires that increase the angles at which the axles will be stressed. No modification to the ATV is generally required to install a Gorilla Suspension lift kit. Because adding lift to an ATV usually causes a "chain reaction" within the components of the machine, installing heavy duty parts in one place results in breakage of stock parts in another. One weak spot created when heavy duty lift kits are installed is the through shaft that runs from transmission through the motor to the front differential.
