What You Will Need: Martini Glass, Olive, Gin, Dry Vermouth, Shaker

How to do it

Make sure your Martini glass is clean. Cleanliness is always the first step when learning how to make a Martini or any other drink.

Fill the Martini Glass with ice to chill the glass. Martinis are served very cold for the best results.

Fill the shaker with ice. The very best Martinis are ice cold. Before making one, it is also best to store the Vermouth in the refrigerator. Keeping the Vermouth cold will ensure to maintain its flavor as well as add the needed chill to the final Martini.

Dump the ice (and any water) out of the Martini Glass leaving a chilled glass.

Adorn and coat the Martini Glass with 3/4 ounces of Dry Vermouth. Spin the glass a few times to evenly coat the inner surface of the glass with the Dry Vermouth.

Make sure the Martini Glass is smoothly coated with Vermouth.

Add 1 1/2 ounces of Gin to the shaker and shake well for 30 seconds in the shaker filled with ice. Don't shake too long. The Gin will mix with the ice (water) and lessen the strength of the Gin.

Carefully strain the ice cold Gin into the Martini Glass leaving behind the ice.

Add an olive and serve. Enjoy this delicious drink! You just learned how to make a Martini. Enjoy it.

To make a Dirty Martini, add olive juice. Enjoy it.
